Hoverspeeds 2005 advance bookings boost.
21 January 2005
This early booking demand for travelling on Hoverspeeds Dover Calais route coincides with the high speed car ferry operator increasing its capacity with the addition of a larger Seacat to its fleet during the coming season.
Following its current, annual winter break, Hoverspeeds Dover Calais services resume on 17 March. Sailing frequency will increase to eight return sailings daily by the Easter 2005 holiday period, and up to nine return sailings daily in the peak season.
Hoverspeed has already fired the first broadside in the continued cross-Channel price war offering the best-ever return fare of 49. The 49 return is available for a car and up to five passengers for any duration, any day throughout 2005 offering complete flexibility.
The fare applies to Hoverspeeds Dover Calais Seacat services and is available online (hoverspeed.com) by simply clicking on the Book Best Fares link on the homepage. Bookings can be amended for just a 10 fee.
Buoyed by the healthy advance bookings, Hoverspeeds Managing Director Geoffrey Ede said the company was confident of increasing its market share on the Channel in 2005.
We enjoyed a very good year in 2004 with our load factors increasing by 17%, despite it being one of the toughest trading years for Channel operators. Our forward bookings for this year are very encouraging and once again we will be leading the way in pricing and levels of service, and continue to be the dominant cross-Channel fast ferry operator, he added.
